Statistics about tallies of 0-3 behinds

In a previous post, I noted the occurrence of behind tallies from 0-3 in the history of V/AFL football. Below I will tabulate the occurrence of scores with 0-3 behinds in every year from 1897 to 2009. Apart from the previously noted list of years where no score contained 0-3 behinds, I will note:

1. The most in one season is nineteen in 1898, the second year of the V/AFL
2. The most since 1912 is five in 1960 and 1999
3. There were 55 in the first three years of the VFL (13.68% of scores)
4. In the 1900s there were 73 (4.83% 0f scores), in the 1910s 25 (1.64 percent), in the 1920s just ten (0.52% of all scores), in the 1930s a mere seven (0.31 percent), in the 1940s fourteen (0.63 percent), in the 1950s twelve (0.53 percent), during the 1960s sixteen (0.70 percent), in the 1970s just five (a mere 0.18 percent of scores) and in the 1980s again five (only 0.17 percent of all scores).
5. The advent of the 20-minute quarter in 1994 has seen some increase in score of 0-3 behinds. During the 1990s there were fourteen (still only 0.39 percent of all scores) and in the 2000s scores of 0-3 behinds numbered seventeen (0.46 percent of all scores, but the highest for a decade since the 1960s).
